I’m back with another makeup haul! Yay! I want to try new things so I’ve been open to spending money on makeup. Although I think I have to slow down with eyeshadows as I don’t wear them often but I’m so drawn to them I can’t help it! They just look so pretty! I’ve heard good things about BH cosmetics. They are cheap but good quality so I figured I could try them out.
I’m gonna start with this item that isn’t for me. I got this eyeshadow palette thinking of my mom, who has one that she grabbed from me before I tossed it because I didn’t like it; they’re hard to blend and fade away quickly. So I figured I could get her a better one, she doesn’t wear them often, only for big events like company parties and weddings. I’m not gonna lie, it’s so tempting to keep it for myself; the colours are beautiful. This is the Essential Eyes – 28 eyeshadow palette it was $8.40US. The packaging is nothing special and it was so hard to open, I ended up accidentally cracking it a tiny bit because I was struggling so much to open it. I was so frustrated, I know my mom won’t be upset about it but I’m still annoyed that I will give this to her with a crack on the lid.
Next, another eyeshadow, but this one is for me, woo!. This is the Carli Bybel Deluxe Edition palette, it was $22.50US. I don’t watch her on youtube and I haven’t seen a lot of people talking about it, but the ones I have seen say this is an easy to blend, pigmented and long lasting palette. I love the packaging and it has a mirror! The shades are so beautiful. I honestly can’t wait to use this, I probably will use the highlighters as eyeshadows, but I will have to play with them and see if they do work as highlighters for me. I will be doing a separate post doing swatches for this palette.
Because I was spending over $20 on bhcosmetics, I qualified for a free gift. This is the Foil Eyes Cool To Go palette. It has 6 shades. I honestly don’t know what I’ll be doing with this, the colours are not something I’d reach for. They are nice and pigmented though.
I also purchased a set of brushes. I refuse to buy brushes from sephora or MAC where one brush can be over $30. But I needed new brushes, specially now with all the eyeshadow palettes I have, having decent brushes could come in handy. This is the Sculpt and Blend 2 set. It comes with 10 brushes and it was $13.40US.
Besides BH cosmetics, I also purchased a new bb cream. I mentioned last time when I posted my everyday makeup, that I had been using the same bb cream for years, that just made me want to try a new one. This is the Instaready super bb from Physician’s Formula in light/medium One thing I was not impressed about was the lack of shades, they have fair/light and light/medium, that’s it. This is just the right shade for me, but it won’t be for someone with darker complexion and the fair/light could now work for someone with very fair skin.
And the last product it’s this Elf Perfect Finish HD Powder in Clear. Again, trying a new setting powder since I’ve been using the same one forever. I wouldn’t say it’s completely clear as I can kinda see it when I set my makeup but it settles down after some time in your skin and it’s mattefying. My brush stained it a bit since I was using the other powder that has pigment in it.
And that’s it! Like I said, I will be doing a separate post talking more about the Carli Bybel palette as well as showing swatches of it.
I hope you guys enjoyed this. Have you tried BH cosmetics before? What do you think? Let me know in the comments below. Thank you for reading and have a great week!
