Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette – review & swatches

Hello guys! As I mentioned in my previous makeup haul, I’m doing a review and swatch post for the Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette from BH cosmetics. This is a relaunch of the Carli Bybel Palette, which had 10 eyeshadows and 4 highlighters. The Deluxe Edition has 15 eyeshadows and 6 highlighters. I do not own the original palette, so I can’t do a comparison, and I belive they have discontinued it.

I think the packaging it’s really nice and sleek. The inside has a marble look to it which I really like. I also really like the fact that it comes with a nice big mirror. One thing I wish was different is that the shadows have no names. I checked the back of the packaging, and the sleeve but it has no information about it. I mean, it’s not that big of a deal but for a review and swatch it’s always convenient to specify which shade I’m talking about.

I think the colours are beautiful. It is a very neutral palette, as it does not have a lot of dark shades. It’s probably more of a spring/summer palette for some people. It has 8 matte shadows and 7 shimmery to metalic shadows. You can definitely use the highlighters as eyeshadows as well, as some colours might be too dark or too light to use as highlighters, it just depends on preference and skin tone.

I will be swatching by row to make it less confusing. The shadows feel creamy and are easy to blend. They did not have a lot of powder kick up comparing to other palettes I own. Most shades are very pigmented and easy to blend as well. I wil show you swatch and I will specify some things I noticed with some shades.

Row 1

This row has 2 mattes and 3 shimmery shades. The 2 mattes are great for transition shades. I’m disappointed on the first shimmery shade as it looks so pretty on the pan but it does not have a lot of pigment. This is one you’d have to apply with your fingers and build up to be able to see it. The other two are better but I still feel like applying wih your fingers would be better than using a brush.

Row 2

This row contains 2 shimmery shades and 3 mattes. The shimmery shades are so nice. I also find the mattes nice and creamy. I think my two favourites in this row are the 3rd and 4th shades.

Row 3: This row contains 3 mattes and 2 shimmery shades. I think the first matte shade works as a base as it’s so light on my skin. All shades are creamy and pigmented. This is probably my favourite row of eyeshadows. I love the last two shades.

Highlighters : The highlighters are freaking beautiful. I love every single one. I think the first two can work as highlighters for me but the others are too light or too dark, but I’m okay with that because they are still beautiful shades to use as eyeshadows. Ive used the third shade as an inercorner shade and i really liked it. The two darkest ones are my favourite.

Overall I think this is a great palette, specially for the price and you get so many beautiful shades. I do think that all of the shimmery shades work better applying with your finger tips; they didn’t show up as well when I used a brush, but it’s no big deal and this goes for tons of other eyeshadow brands. I like how it seems like the shadows in each row are purposely lined with ones that work with eachother and shades that you can use for one look; this is very helpful for beginners. I really like this palette and I’m glad I got my hand on it.

Have you guys tried this or the original palette? Let me know in the comments below. Thank you guys for reading, dont forget to follow me and have a nice week 🙂
