You have probably heard about Glamglow masks before. I first heard of them on youtube and was curious to try it as so many people love them. I try to do a face mask at least once a week but I honestly forget to do it, and I love masks! I just have a terrible memory. I got the Glamglow Youthmud tinglexfoliate treatment mask as a gift from my brother last Christmas, it has only lasted this long because, like I said I forget and I have quite a few masks so I try to use all of them. This mask is a treatment to use at least once a week.
It retails for $79CAD for the biggest jar size which is 1.7oz. My brother got a better value for a Christmas set that included a brush, a sample size glamglow face cleanser and and small jar of the super cleanse mask, I don’t know how much he paid exactly, he just told me it was a better deal. So it is an expensive mask, and the jar is pretty small. I try to apply a thin layer to get more out of it, so depending on how much you apply and how often you use it, it might not last you very long.
I do like the consistency, it contains small green tea leave pieces that sometimes seem to be chunky, but the mask is still a nice thick and smooth consistency and is easy to apply to the face. It has a nice lavender citrus smell, it’s not too strong but keep in mind that it doesn’t go away, so you’ll be smelling it while you have it on your face. It claims to be paraben, sulfate and phthalate free and that is for fine lines and wrinkles, dryness, dullness and uneven texture. It doesn’t dry my skin out after use, which is great and my face feels so refreshed and tight after. It says to wait at least 10mins for it to dry, it is better to apply a thin layer so it dries faster, but that is personal preference. It’s supposed to tingle, I kind of feel like it burns a little. I wasn’t expecting it the first time and I wanted to wash it off as soon as it started to burn. Now I’m used to it but it does feel like a burning sensation. So it might not be great if you have sensitive skin, but you could get a sample and and apply it to a small part of your face to test it out. When you wash it off, you’re supposed to massage it into your face with warm water to use it as a face scrub, I do it slowly, as it can be harsh on your face, again for sensitive skin, be gentle when you do this. As I mentioned before, my skin feels soft, tight and refreshed and it looks brighter after every use.
Overall I do enjoy this mask, but for the price, I won’t be repurchasing it. It is a good mask but it didn’t blow me away, it didn’t do anything that some other masks do or a face scrub won’t do. They have smaller sizes online for $27 or you can go into sephora and ask for a sample and see if you like it. I’m glad I tried it, it’s a good mask, but there are other masks out there for a better price.
Thanks guys for reading! Have you tried this mask before? Or any of the Glamglow masks?
